Getting involved for the first time

You are clearly good at using a computer and the internet - so you already have some valuable skills that are an asset to getting involved in research!

It is likely that you will have many other skills that are equally transferable and your personal knowledge and experience from the perspective of a patient, carer or service user is invaluable.

But how do you get started?

Some people enjoy jumping in head first.  If that's you, then please visit the Get involved section of this site and you can search for opportunities that are flagged up as being suitable for absolute beginners.

If you prefer to just dip your toes in the water, then you could spend some time looking at all of the pages within this section. There are several videos giving advice on what to expect in the Experiences section

Or, you could visit the INVOLVE website or read INVOLVE's Public Information Pack.
