Why do we need research?
Health and social care research can help to:
- ensure services and treatments are relevant to the public
- find out what people think about services
- improve treatments and services
- test treatments to make sure they are safe and effective
- improve the environment, health and wellbeing of a local population
Many of us use a variety of research skills in our daily lives to find out information. We might search the internet to find reviews on something we are thinking about buying or ask a sales assistant about different products to see which is best.
