Full description:
We are looking for patients, carers and members of the public to help shape a planned University of Oxford study on inequalities in primary care for atrial fibrillation, heart attack, heart failure and narrowing of the aortic heart valve. Contributors will advise on which aspects of care matter most, how findings should be interpreted and how results should be shared. No research experience is needed. The opportunity is subject to funding and is expected to begin in 2027.

Payment:
If the study is funded, contributors will be offered payment for their time, including participation in online meetings, preparation and document review, in line with current NIHR guidance.
Expenses:
No travel expenses are expected, as all involvement will take place online. Subject to prior agreement and available funding, reasonable accessibility or digital-access costs may be covered where needed to support participation.

What support is offered?
Contributors will receive a clear introduction to the project, plain-language materials in advance, and guidance on what will be discussed at each stage. Meetings will take place online, with flexible arrangements where possible. A named member of the research team will be available to answer questions and provide support before and after meetings. Reasonable accessibility, interpretation, translation or digital-access support may be arranged where needed, subject to prior agreement and available funding. No previous research experience is required.
