Can ashwagandha (a herbal supplement) improve muscle health in later life?

We are applying for a small grant to carry out a pilot study assessing whether ashwagandha (a herbal supplement) may positively impact muscle health and quality of life in older people, and whether a larger trial of this would be feasible. We are looking for 1-2 older people (aged >65 years) who have noticed some muscle weakness recently (e.g. difficulty getting up from a chair or opening heavy doors) to give us feedback on the project idea, outcomes and how to maximise engagement.
