Evaluation of the shielding initiative in Wales during the first wave of COVID19
Link to organisation:
Shielding was introduced across UK in March 2020 to protect vulnerable people from COVID19. There is no evidence that it works. We are comparing outcomes between people asked to shield and a matched cohort: COVID19 infection, hospitalisation, quality of life, immunity. We will interview people and carers who shielded and health professionals about the initiative. We are studying people in Wales, but results will be generalisable across the UK. We seek 2 people for our independent steering group.
