During the Covid 19 pandemic, researchers at University College London (UCL) analysed movement of particles in the air in hospitals. They did this to work out how to reduce the risk of transmission of diseases like Covid 19. Beyond the pandemic, the work has relevance to reducing the spread of any disease carried by the air, such as seasonal flu or scarlet fever.
