Thermal ablation is a means of destroying small liver tumours without the need for open surgery. However, our current methods require improvement and UK research on this topic is very sparse.
We aim to compare:
i) conventional practice
ii) use of a new imaging system that we have developed with a company to better assess whether our treatments has been successful
iii) robotic guidance
