We are designing a new type of research trial for Parkinson’s disease. We are looking for individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, with experience of a chronic health condition to form a Community Advisory Group (CAG). The Group’s input will be vital in helping us to design a trial that is inclusive and accessible for a wider participant population. The panel will meet remotely for discussions and may be asked to complete online surveys or provide feedback on documents.

The Edmond J Safra Accelerating Clinical Trials in Parkinson’s Disease (EJS ACT-PD) Initiative is an exciting project, developing a new type of research trial for Parkinson’s disease. The trial will test treatments that may be able to slow or stop Parkinson’s. Currently this is still in the design stage, and we aim to open the trial in June 2024.

What support is offered?
It is not necessary for applicants to have experience of Parkinson’s disease, research or clinical trials. An induction call to the EJS ACT-PD project and the role of the Community Advisory Group will be provided. Members will have regular contact, support and guidance from the project team throughout their involvement and the team are accessible by phone or email.
Payment:
£20 per hour for preparation and meetings
