Organisation

ISample Research Project

Reliable blood culture sampling is vital for effective management of patients with severe infection in hospital, and for reducing antibiotic overuse. Despite this, between 40% and 60% of hospital patients do not have cultures taken when antibiotics are started. Our study aims to co-design an intervention to optimise blood culture sampling in hospitals. We will conduct a survey of clinicians about their attitudes, beliefs and experiences of blood culture sampling. We will work with 3 NHS trusts
