Full description:

We want to ensure that the patient voice is represented on a new committee for our ECMCs, which aims to speed up the development of new cancer medicine and other interventions to really benefit patients.The ECMC Network Steering Committee has oversight of the activities of the ECMCs. We are looking for a person affected by cancer who could provide critical and constructive feedback to join the Committee as a patient representative.

Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) network

The ECMC network was launched in 2007 and has had a life-time investment of over £100M from Cancer Research UK, the National Institute of Health Research in England, and the health departments for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland since then.
The ECMC initiative supports the infrastructure needed to both deliver world-leading early phase clinical trials and to enable a network of experts to translate scientific discoveries into new cancer treatments for patients.

What support is offered?

You will get training and an induction before taking part, with full support available from a member of the team before and during meetings.


We offer an honoraria of £80 for attendance and participation in ECMC Network Steering Committee meetings.


We are able to reimburse reasonable travel expenses for travel, subsistence and overnight accommodation where necessary, in accordance with our policy.
