Looking for feedback from members of the public on my mental capacity research proposal.
I would like members of the public to give me feedback on my research proposal. The research will develop a toolkit for health and social care staff to use to support older people to make decisions. These could be decisions about their health, care options, where they live, how they manage their money. People may have difficulty making decisions due to communication or memory problems. Please contact me if you would be happy to give feedback via email on a Plain English Summary of the research.

Dr Mark Jayes
I am a Speech and Language Therapist and researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University. I have completed previous research on mental capacity and developed the Mental Capacity Assessment Support Toolkit (MCAST). The proposed research would develop the MCAST further.

I will provide guidance to anyone interested in reviewing the short Plain English summary. This will involve supporting people to understand what is involved in the research and the type of feedback that I would particularly welcome. I can provide individualised support for people with communciation needs.
There is no payment available for reading the Plain English Summary and commenting on it. There would be payment available for future contributions to the research project if it is funded.
