Understanding the Genetic Basis in a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection cohort using Next Generation Genetic Sequencing approach
Understanding the genetic cause of aortic aneurysm and dissection
Link to organisation:
Full description:
Aortic aneurysm and dissections are serious and sometimes life-threatening conditions that can be passed down between generations. Only 20% of affected patients have a known genetic cause for their aortic dissection and/or aneurysm. The aim of our study is to try to identify new genes that contribute to the development of these diseases, with the aim of discovering better and less invasive treatment options in a timely manner, improving survival and quality of life.
