We would like to hear from people who have experience of having an open wound.
The Wounds Research Group at the University of Manchester carries out research into treating and preventing open wounds such as leg, foot and pressure ulcers, and surgical or traumatic wounds which were not closed using stitches or staples. We want to ensure our research focuses on issues that are important to patients and carers and is conducted in way that is clear and acceptable. We are flexible with respect to how you can be involved (e.g. by phone, email or meeting in person).

Wounds Research Group, University of Manchester
The Wounds Research Group is part of the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at the University of Manchester. We are a friendly group of people from a range of backgrounds. We work closely with the NHS to conduct research into a number of areas within wound care, in particular relating to leg, foot and pressure ulcers, and surgical or traumatic wounds.
We are able to give you more information about what getting involved in research is about. We also hope to build a network of other patient and public members who you can make contact with.
We are able to offer reimbursement for your time. The amount will be dependent on your level of involvement. Please contact us to discuss.
We are able to reimburse reasonable travel expenses from within Greater Manchester.
