I am currently looking for members of the public to be part of a NIHR multi-year fellowship, to be part of the PPIE (Patient Public Involvement and Engagement) group. I am particularly interested in those:

a) Permanently residing in the UK (essential)
b) Older adults (50+), and are either:

1. A current vaper
2. An ex-vaper
3. An ex-smoker

This is a grant application for a project investigating the generational influence on vaccination. We will be interviewing older adults (65 years+) and their children (possibly grandchildren too) on their thoughts about vaccination (including pneumococcal, flu, shingles, winter COVID and RSV). We are particularly interested in hearing from those who have REFUSED any of these. In this opportunity, you will be part of a small PPI team of 3/4 people, helping guide the documents and interviews.

Virtual wards, often referred to as ‘hospital at home’, have emerged as a prominent, policy-driven innovation. Acute Respiratory Infections represent a substantial burden on NHS services. In this study, virtual wards will be evaluated as a management pathway for acute respiratory infection. This opportunity is to be involved in a Patient and Public Advisory Group to help direct the study, help design the methods and to analyse data.
